Sheherezade Jafari PhD.

Communications & DBI Lead

As an educator, facilitator, researcher, and trainer, Sheherazade Jafari brings an equity lens to building inclusive cultures and to sustainably resolving and transforming conflict within organizations and communities. Her background includes over two decades of practice and scholarship in international conflict resolution, community-driven development, and advancing gender justice within Middle East and North African, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and North American contexts. Sheherazade has a particular interest in culturally rooted peacebuilding, including through gender-inclusive, faith-based, and decolonizing approaches. At Georgetown University, she teaches courses on Religion in Conflict & Peacebuilding and Decolonizing Peace & Justice. Her recent publications include Religion and Gender Action Guide (United States Institute of Peace Press, 2023).
